Sports Medicine Australia will be hosting a 'FREE Concussion in Sport' workshop at Sharkies Leagues Club on Thursday 8th March.

Presented by leading concussion researcher, Dr Andrew Gardner (University of Newcastle), these workshops will give clubs a greater understanding of concussion, its prevalence and how to recognise and safely manage it within the context of sport. Find out more here.

Because these are FREE events, spaces will fill up fast, so please register NOW to avoid disappointment.

We need as many people as possible to take a minute (even less!) to sign this online petition to help us secure much-needed funding to upgrade our playing fields. Please click here to take part. Thanks so much for your support!

From term 2 we will be running a special 'Tiger Cub' nursery training camp for 3-5 year olds. The sessions will run Saturday mornings from 9-10am for 10 weeks starting 5th May.

To register your interest, please email Melissa via with your child's name and date of birth wtih subject line 'TIGER CUBS'.

We can't wait to see the kids in action :)

You can now apply for and redeem Active Kids vouchers for all of your school-aged children and save $100 on each child's registration.

Please follow these steps to redeem your child's voucher:

1. Claim your $100 voucher here

2. Once you have your code, register as usual via My Football Club

3. Enter your Active Kids voucher code in the clearly marked box just before the payment screen

4. Have a great 2018 with the Tigers!

You will need your Medicare card and child's height and weight on hand, and will need to answer a few additional questions including the name of your child's school. The whole process should take less than 10 minutes, and it gets quicker with every child.

The voucher can only be used for the named person and can only be used once.

Georges River FC is one of the biggest (and friendliest!) football clubs in the Sutherland Shire. We are looking for sponsors to help make our great club even better with a number of sponsorship packages available, including team sponsorships, field naming rights and general sponsorship packages. Please click here to download our 2018 sponsorship options or have a chat with our Sponsorship Coordinator Belinda Brannock.

We're looking for players to join our newly formed over 30C women's team and our O45D men's team. Maybe you haven't played for a long time. Maybe you've never played and you're keen to give it a go. Whatever the case may be, we'd love you to sign up! Please email Melissa via to find out more.

It's not every day that FOX Sports Australia comes to the River! As part of the Hyundai Goals For Grassroots initiative, some of our kids were lucky enough to be filmed having a kick with the lads from Sydney FC. After the filming wrapped up all of our kids (and parents!) had the chance to meet Aaron Calver, Rhyan Grant and Anthony Kalik.

Meeting the players

By virtue of Bobo's 16th goal of the season for Sydney FC in Round 17 of the 2017/2018 Hyundai A-League, we have secured a $2,000 Hyundai Goals For Grassroots grant, courtesy of Hyundai Australia.

We plan to use these G4GR funds to make playing at our club an even better experience for our kids by improving our playing fields, updating training gear and investing in training for our Mini Roo refs and coaches.
A huge THANK YOU to Hyundai Goals For Grassroots for giving our club such an awesome opportunity. The whole experience, including having Sydney FC come to Oyster Bay oval to meet the kids has been amazing. A wonderful way to kick off our 2018 season!

We were privileged to have one of our homegrown Tigers return from the Bundesliga to have a kick with our next generation of superstars: Cameron Kemp, home for the holidays, stopped in to chat with Fox Sports Australia, catch up with his first goalkeeping coach Bob Holme and the rest of the GRFC Family.

Cameron began his footballing career with Georges River as a 5yo. He played down at “The River” until the U10s when he was selected to play for the Sutherland metro team. That team was successful in the Sydney competition and won. He moved on to the Sutherland Sharks NPL 13’s and 14’s as well as being selected in the inaugural Project 22 and Junior Soccerooos while in the 14’s at Football NSW at Blacktown.

Cameron has played for various NPL teams including Wollongong Wolves, Rockdale Suns and most recently Hakoah 18’s and 20’s. From there her was lucky enough to have the opportunity to move to Cologne and play in Under 19’s Bundesliga 2. He also finished his HSC while living in Germany. He has been lucky enough to gain selection in a senior team in Dusseldorf in a 5th division competition of the Bundesliga.

Cameron is part of the Kemp family who live in Oyster Bay and have played football for Georges River FC for over 20 years. Both his older brother and sister played for “The River” and his dad Michael is keeper for our O45s while his mum Jamelle is in goals for our W30s.

You can see more photos here on our Facebook page.

We're all very proud of you Cameron!

WOOHOO!! Georges River FC has been selected as a Hyundai Goals For Grassroots winner: We're guaranteed a $1000 donation PLUS an extra $1000 for every goal Sydney FC scores against Central Coast Mariners in Round 17 of the Hyundai A-League to be played 20 January! Here's hoping for a Sydney FC goalfest!!!

The GRFC Committee would like to give a HUGE thank you to all our members who supported our fundraising efforts through the Cook Classic Raffle and Gala Dinner. The Classic wrapped up on Saturday, and we are pleased to say that of all the non-profit groups fundraising, we raised the most money!  In total $12,366 which will go straight back into field and facility improvements. It proves once again that this great club is full of heart and community spirit.

We have to give a special mention to the Brannock family who sold the most raffle tickets, the 35B's who were the team that sold the most raffle tickets (with Robbo from the 35B's selling 63 books!) and Head manager & Club Secretary Debbie Kearns for bringing it all together. THANK YOU!

Dates for the 2018 season have been revised to help assist with the registration of players that can benefit from the NSW Active Kids Rebate program.

We were scheduled to commence the season on 24-25 March, with the Easter break the subsequent weekend. It has just been agreed by the SSFA and SSC that Round 1 will now be delayed until 7-8 April.

By extending the season by one week we have effectively gained an additional two weeks prior to the season commencement.

Thinking of planning a holiday in 2018? Please check these revised season dates first: 2018 Competition Dates (updated).

Ryan Grogan, who grew up playing for the Tigers, is the youngest A license coach in the country and was recently appointed Head Coach of National Youth League side Canberra United FC. He'll be calling the shots in their inaugural Foxtel NYL season which kicked off on Sunday 19th November. We're all extremely proud of you Ryan, and wishing you the very best and every success!

After such a good night in 2017, we've invited the Comedy for a Cause crew back for another show, so please keep Saturday night, May 19 free! Tickets on sale now.

The GRFC Committee kindly donated some of our vintage jerseys to the beautiful people of Fiji. The family of one of our committee members is a "Returnee's Club Member" of Mana Island.  The returnees club regularly raise money to support the local Fijian families and they held an early Christmas Day on Mana Island for Fijian children aged 8 to 18 who are currently receiving treatment for cancer.

It was our pleasure to send over some jerseys for the kids to wear when they hold their next football match, which will be when the weather isn't 40 degrees! May these beautiful Fijian children play the beautiful game in these jerseys for many more years to come!

We still have many jerseys we would happily donate, if you know of a worthwhile charity or if you are travelling to a country you think could use them, please contact our Secretary Debbie Kearns -
