All turf fields are CLOSED today Monday 25 March due to wet weather. No training at Oyster Bay Oval today.

After a false start, Round 1 has been redrawn. You can download the updated draw here.

An important thing for our competition teams to note (U12s and older) is that Grand Finals can now be played as late as 01/02 September (spare weekend for any Finals series washouts) - something to think about when planning your holidays! Our very own Vice President Matt learned the hard way a few seasons ago...

The good news is the grass is green and we are now even more ready to go!

Goalkeeper training for Georges River players will commence on Thursday 28 March from 5.30 – 6.30pm. The sessions are run by Bob Holme and are for those junior keepers who regularly play in that position but unfortunately not those who have their turn in goal once or twice a season.

Following the early session, and depending on interest, an additional half hour will be available (6.30 – 7pm) for those keepers U18 and up who may be reluctant to train with the young ones.

These sessions as always are to allow keepers to practice their particular craft which is sometimes difficult to do in a normal team training environment.

Our Tiger Cub nursery program will be kicking off another season on Saturday 04 May for 10 weeks. If you have a future Tiger aged 3-5 who might be interested, please email Melissa via with their name and date of birth. We'll then be in touch with more information.

You may have noticed some brand new signs the council has placed at Oyster Bay Oval... Please be mindful if you take your dog down for a run as you may be fined if you let it off the leash.

The Sutherland Shire Football Referee’s Association (SSFRA) is currently recruiting for new Referee’s for the 2019 Season.

Refereeing is a great way to earn extra pocket money, whilst volunteering and giving back to grassroots football.

The SSFRA offers flexibility to allow its referee’s to continue playing club football, whilst also providing the option to easily update their availability to referee from week-to-week.

To become a referee, the requirement is to bring a passion for football, a willingness to learn and you must be at least 14 years of age.

The entry requirements are as simple as completing an online Laws of the Game certificate and attending a 1-day practical training course, which will be held over 4 dates in February and March.

To find out more, please refer to this flyer and visit for details.

The Football Federation of Australia is currently bidding to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023 and we're calling on all Tigers to take a few seconds to #GetOnside and support the Bid by signing up at

We want to demonstrate to FIFA that we're passionate football fans and will warmly welcome the world’s biggest, and most prestigious, women’s sporting event!

Earlier this year we donated football gear for Dr Peter Locke and his wife Carolyn (parents of Andrew & Jack in our U18s) to take to Zambia as part of their latest medical mission.

Peter, Carolyn, their daughter Annalise and Steve Marcellino (another GRFC dad) were part of a team that saw 166 patients a day in very isolated communities. The work they do is very humbling but also very rewarding. Carolyn says that the joy that the Club's donations brought to the children was priceless:

"They have never had shirts, shorts, shin-pads or water bottles before. They have never even had balls to play with! The school we donated the gear to has 200 pupils (including 25 orphans) and zero sports equipment so you can imagine the excitement!"

A number of young GRFC players have put their hands up for next year's trip, perhaps an Australia vs Zambia match will be on the agenda?

Peter and Carolyn are the founders of Global Links Medical Foundation which is fully self-funded and works on 0% admin costs. If you are interested in helping them out please visit:
